Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain

Lumumba is based on the true-life events surrounding the formation of African-run government after the decolonisation of Africa during the sixties. Patrice Lumumba was the pioneer in setting up a democratic government trying to encompass the needs of the numerous tribal concerns and viewpoints. Similar to the United States' Civil Rights Movement, corruption, fear, and racism negatively impacted the development of advanced ideas.
Heavy in traditional ideology and reinforced with errant religious justification, Mooladé attemps to illumine the issue of female circumcision and the powerful pull of generational practices. Discussing issues of female equality and the treatment of the female body, it presents the idea of feminism from a different perspective.
Le Sens de l'humour
After two comedians heckle the wrong audience member, the serial killer who kidnaps them imprisons them. They attempt to stay alive by teaching him the art of humor. As the serial killer working as a cook develops his socializing skills, he manages to get the woman he loves. With a major twist at the end, this movie is a light farce to enjoy.
